Older American’s Month “High Tea”

We hosted our “High Tea” yesterday afternoon with 18 of our local “older americans” attending to recognize each of them as an integral part of our community.
The menu included the following:
Scones -
Cranberry-Clementine with Grandmanier
Coconut-Pecan with Cinnamon Dusting
Savories -
Cucumber with Boursin Cheese
Creamy Chicken Salad
Honey Ham with Apricot Glaze and Stoneground Mustard
Cherry Tomato and Mozzarella Salad
Sweets -
Lemon Popover
Fluffy Cream Puff
Mixed Berry Tart
Chocolate-Caramel Pecan Dainty
Carrot Cake with Cream Cheese Frosting
We had a wide variety of selected tea - but, the Carolina Peach Tea was the HUGE hit! We could not keep enough brewed. For those that attended - the Carolina Peach Tea can be purchased at Hale Tea Company.
As our guests left, we provided brochures of information on available services provided by both the Hunterdon County Seniors Center and Hunterdon County PolyTech.
The seniors group president Estelle Butler thanked us with a beautiful bouquet of roses and a card.
Overall, I believe it was a great success and I want to thank each of our attendees for the opportunity to “serve” them in another capacity.
